Naïve 03:22
He sits in a corner Sipping coffee 'til it's cold He's seventeen And he feels old She dances for the boys And serves happiness by the G She's everything she dreamed And nothing she wanted to be Young and fun and Young and fun and Young and fun and So naïve She asks him home, shy But not enough to be rude He thinks he's falling in love She thinks she's gonna get screwed Reality steps in Reality steps in Young and fun and Young and fun and Young and fun and So naïve 20 odd years Still an empty refrain Still searching for the words And everything changed I rewrote the hook For all of your songs Our life is a movie We were acting all along Young and fun and Young and fun and Young and fun and So naïve

The moment's closing in The ever silent sin And the rushing Adrenaline Makes you feel Like you're ten feet tall The moment passed you by Without a second thought You never said goodbye You never said a lot I don't really wonder What went wrong You always lit the darkest days But you never had your way You got left behind in the crowd Nursing your pride The moment passed you by Without a second thought You never said goodbye You never said a lot I don't really wonder What went wrong You're picture perfect Egoist You're 100% Hit and miss You blink once You're going to miss it all You're going to miss it all You're going to miss it all No second thought But you always pushed away The people who wanted to say They knew the real you Behind the drugs you used to hide The moment passed you by Without a second thought You never said goodbye You never said a lot I don't really wonder What went wrong What went wrong

The music is telling me Something I already know These highs are haunting me As much as any lows Breaking the pattern Is living without this dream Breaking it off with you I'm somewhere in-between I meant what I said I didn't like the way I was treated Despite that you said I won I felt somehow defeated And now I don't regret That this is faded in the past I never held a false hope Any of this would last And now I don't remember What was truth and what was lies These doubts are killing me As much as any highs Breaking the illusion Is living without extremes Breaking the ice with you I'm somewhere in-between I meant what I said I didn't like the way I was treated Despite that you said I won I felt somehow cheated And now I don't regret That this is faded in the past I never held a false hope Any of this would last And I'm the guy you love The one you always dream about and baby I'm the only one You know you can't live without Breaking the ties with you Is driving me away Breaking me up inside I'm somewhere lost in pain I meant what I said I didn't like the way I was treated Despite that you said I won I felt somehow defeated And now I don't regret That this is faded in the past I never held a false hope Any of this would last I'm somewhere in-between Somewhere in-between

Sleepwalkers 04:20
You see it on the streets Full of broken dreams Resigned to their 9-5s Cannot count the times They let their dreams go by Just for a lack of trying And I can't bear to believe That I'm a wolf among these sheep Or that there's honour among thieves While we walk around asleep Walk around asleep Walk around It's not me who's talking I'm not doing the walking Aimlessly the drugs carry me around My makeup makes me vain My prose keeps me from fame And I can't bear to believe That I'm a wolf among these sheep Or that there's honour among thieves While we walk around asleep Walk around asleep Walk around Feel it on the streets The cracked and shattered dreams They all hate their shitty 9-5s And I hope that they're all creeps So I can cry myself to sleep Cuz at least it lets me know That I'm still alive And I can't bear to believe That I'm a wolf among these sheep Or that there's honour among thieves While we walk around asleep Walk around asleep Walk around asleep And I can't bear to believe That I'm a wolf among these sheep Or that there's honour among thieves While we walk around asleep Walk around asleep Walk around

about

A brand new mini album of reinterpretations of 22-year-old songs. When I first started making music seriously, back in 1998/1999, I had a band, Divinity Burst; and these songs were originally recorded and performed by that band. 22 years later, I wanted to revisit them, and they have aged pretty well.
